Meals on Wheels Ministry, Inc. serves a daily meal to nearly 3,000+ frail,
homebound senior citizens and disabled persons for every weekday in East Texas.
These meals are prepared fresh at the central kitchen located at 3001 Robertson
Road, Tyler, TX. The meals are then home-delivered by compassionate volunteers to
eligible persons who cannot provide meals for themselves. Often this is the only meal
they will have that day.
Meals on Wheels has served the senior citizens of East Texas since 1973. From its humble beginnings in Tyler, serving 14 people per day, this charitable work has grown tremendously and now reaches six counties and 55 communities daily. Just last year, over 750,000+ meals were served by Meals on Wheels.
